Windstrike (Early Game)

Both of the setups here are featured in our Newbie Progression Guide, along with several other bags for players level 3 through 5. Be sure to check out the guide for a lot of really good information for new players. Also, our Tips for Newer Players page offers a lot of other useful information.

Being 100% real with you here, Windstrike is probably the best or second best club in the game right now. It may not wow you at first, but it becomes insanely accurate and powerful at later levels and almost all non-Mythical holes can be reached in one shot. With that said, invest in Windstrike whenever possible. The sooner you get it leveled up, the better.

In the above setup, we’re taking advantage of the Palo brand (pink cards) adjacency bonus for Lowball, Lodestar and Windstrike, so that means they’re all picking up a little power boost by being next to one another. Jumpstart is boosting Windstrike‘s power and Steadfast is boosting all the stats of Lowball, Windstrike and Jumpstart because they are all either Common or Rare clubs. Lodestar is also providing all of your clubs a new draw/fade bonus we haven’t seen before that means you can make “bendier” shots, which are great for dogleg holes. Plus, it’s a really nice, early game chipping iron if you need the distance that Steadfast can’t provide you with.

Here is an alternate setup that may provide you with a more balanced approach. Windstrike is getting a power boost from Jumpstart, some bounce reduction from Maelstrom and some wind reduction from Rook. Steadfast is also boosting all the stats for Windstrike, Jumpstart and Rook because they’re all either Common or Rare clubs.
