Making it to Level 5

Hitting level 5 is a major milestone and REALLY opens up some amazing possibilities! Before checking out some bag ideas, let’s take a look at some of the more important milestone clubs that will now be unlocked: Homecoming, Windstrike, Sunstorm, Into the Breach, Maelstrom, Steadfast, and Meteor (although this guide will focus on bags WITHOUT Meteor).

Homecoming is great for putting off the green and is often used later on as we level up, but still a great putter to consider at this level! Windstrike is a bit tricky early on, but is a MONSTER of a club later on so keep pouring silver into leveling it up! Sunstorm boosts all the stats of the club farthest away, giving added power off the tee! Into the Breach is for those who dare for more power and spin for your clubs, but at the cost of control for your whole bag! Maelstrom is a KEY club for many bags later on in your PGA Tour career, as bounce reduction becomes so beneficial to your play, especially at later levels. Steadfast provides a great boost to all common and rare clubs in your bag! We’re also adding Meteor to this list, but as a Mythical club, it’s quite rare and hard to come by. Sidewinder is powerful off the tee and can also be experimented with, too!

Some Suggested Level 5 Bags

Now that we’ve unlocked all of these amazing new clubs, let’s see what they can do for us. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of possible club combinations for a bag setup. Here are a few solid bags to get you going on your path to player level 6. Keep in mind that all clubs in the game can be upgraded to club level 12, so as you progress these clubs will keep getting better and better and even unlock new abilities at higher levels.

Sidewinder

This is nicely balanced setup that provides some wind reduction from Rook, bounce reduction from Maelstrom, a whole-bag accuracy boost from Commonlaw and a power boost for Sidewinder from Jumpstart. Tee off with Sidewinder and chip with either Commonlaw or Maelstrom, depending on how close to the hole you are on your second shot. You can experiment by putting some top spin on your Sidewinder drive for loads of extra yards!

Conqueror

This bag focuses on boosting Conqueror‘s driving power with Jumpstart and Into the Breach (you’ll also pick up a spin boost from that, too). Conqueror has a chain boost for putters, so if you can stick the green on your drive, Lowball will get a massive stat increase on your next shot, making for a relatively simple putt. Commonlaw is here to provide an accuracy boost for the whole bag, which will counteract some of the negative effects from Into the Breach.

Windstrike #1

Here Steadfast is providing a stat boost to all clubs in the bag, except for Lodestar (because it’s not a Common or Rare club). Windstrike is also picking up a power boost from Jumpstart to maximize your drive. Lodestar is getting a double power boost from both Windstrike and Lowball because they’re all part of the Palo brand of clubs. Lowball is also getting an additional power boost from it’s Palo neighbor Lodestar.

Windstrike #2

In this setup, Windstrike gets the “oldest child” treatment by getting almost all of the attention. It’s collecting boosts from every other club in the bag. A power boost from Jumpstart, bounce reduction from Maelstrom, some wind reduction from Rook and an overall stat boost by Steadfast. If you can’t make it to a par 5 green with Windstrike, you can always hit with it again on your second shot and then chip with either Maelstrom or Steadfast.
