What are some of your favorite moments playing PGA Tour?

This might be cheesy, but then again, I might be cheesy – my favorite PGA Tour moment was finding the game itself. I don’t consider myself much of a gamer, much a less a mobile gamer, but I wanted a game where, primarily, the competition was myself, and after much trial and error, I found this game. Sure, there is Rival Play and Duels and Tournaments, but that’s all on the meta level, the real competition is the game within the game, bettering your score from hole to hole, upgrading your clubs, learning how wind and grass and programmers in Minnesota conspire to challenge you.

Favorite thing about PGA Tour?

Hands down, its the people I’ve met. The game might be the vehicle, but my Clubhouse mates are the passengers, and through our in-game chat, Discord and Duels, I’ve met some great people, and learned a great deal about this game and the people who play it, which has enriched my life considerably.

If you could only play with one bag setup, which one would it be?

I’ve only recently attained Level 9, so most of my career in this game has been one of toil, struggle and overcoming not having Magnesis and Rocket and the other legends of the game that our friends at Concrete frequently aim to nerf. So, most of my time in this game was spent with Lowball, Lodestar, Oakheart, Skyfury and Jumpstart – this is the bag that got me where I am today, and I instantly dropped it when a Lowball, Windstrike, Meteor, Maelstrom and Conspiracy bag were available to me.

What can I say? I’m loyal, but I’m not an idiot. *

What would you say is the most under-appreciated club in the game?

I don’t know if its under-appreciated, but I will say that from my perspective, Maelstrom is the most valuable club in the game. As someone who is often more ambitious than accurate when driving, honing my chipping skill is a must, and I have likely logged 500 Albatrosses since gaining this club. An achievement which, I believe, netted me a whopping 40 pieces of gold from the game – amazing!

What’s an improvement to the game that you’d like to see added?

My knee-jerk reaction is to add a new course, as we all know the current ones backwards and forwards, but to be perfectly honest, the one thing that would improve this game in the most immediate way would be more attention to Q&A and bug fixing. I won’t go as far as to say this game is plagued with bugs, that would make It unplayable, but what it actually is, is beset with bugs. Bugs which do not break the game, but which make it less fun – clubs not reacting to wind as they should, spin being calculated by a dice roll and tacit nerfing to popular clubs that has never been announced, explained or acknowledged.

What tips would you give to newer players?

The best advice I could ever give in this game is to be patient.

·      You will be matched with people who can hit any green with their drive
·      You will be matched with people who have magical clubs that seem to do the work for them
·      You will be matched with a person whose username is a dick joke

This game throws a lot at you, and often the odds seem unsurmountable or even icky, but keep the course, hit the ball straight if you cannot hit it long, and learn from every game you play. The clubs will come, the gold and the coins will come, and you will level up and get more experience with every outing. Don’t sweat the losses, because each one is a chance to learn something new.
